Then you go to the prehistoric city of Akrotiri that inspired the myth of the Lost Atlantis. This city was buried under volcanic ash after the huge eruption of the volcano of 1612 BC that destroyed the Minoan civilization. Your licensed guide accompanies you to Akrotiri and broadcasts you events of that time, walking with you between the paths and paths well-preserved buildings, where the ancient Greeks lived so many centuries ago.
After visiting the excavations certainly could not miss the tour of the volcano of the island.
Your cruise departs from the new port of Athinios. After just 15 minutes by boat, we will reach the bay of the volcano, where we will stay for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which, if you want, you can follow the path together with the guide, to the top where active craters are located.
Then we will be transferred to the island of Palaia Kameni for the thermal springs, the famous mud baths, formed because of volcanic eruptions. In the small bay of Agios Nikolaos the water temperature ranges from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, as it constantly mixes with normal sea currents. The boat will stay here about 30 minutes for any of you to enjoy a healthy swim.
After swimming, you will return to the port keeping wonderful memories of your time travel!
