When driving in Greece you must drive on the right hand side of the road.
The main roads in Santorini only have 2 lane traffic, and within the villages, the roads are very narrow. Fira the capital and other prominent villages on the island have free public parking areas. Use them to avoid traffic congestion and parking fines. |

| Cars & Jeeps minimum age for Drivers : 21 years. A valid licence is also required to hire a scooter & crash helmets are compulsory. |

| Drinking and Driving is frowned upon with harsh penalties be you four wheeled or two. Alcotests / police blocks are a regular thing all year round, especially in the summer season on Saturday nights. Seat belts are compulsory. |

Each village on the island has its own beauty.
Fira is the heart of the island and center of shopping & nightlife. Firostefani and Imerovigli have beautiful Caldera views & traditional houses.
Oia is known for the best sunset on the island, traditional architecture and art deco galleries. Pyrgos and Emporio for the still existing Venetian Castles and the narrow little streets around the village
Perissa, Perivolos and Kamari beach are all long beaches with cafeterias, beach bars, shops and restaurants.
Akrotiri is worth a visit to see the village, the fantastic island views, beach tavernas, the lighthouse and the famous Red Beach (unfortunately the excavation site is closed).
Any of the villages can be easily explored by car, bike or ATV. Contact us before you come or pass by our office when you arrive - we can arrange your transport. You can also join us on one of our guided coach tours.
Santorini Shopping
Late night shopping is a must on the island - many places stay open till after midnight during the summer season. Pharmacies take a lunch time break, on weekends you will find a note in the door telling you who is on duty. |
