The group of islands known as Santorini is unique. Probably the only volcano with a caldera that reaches into the sea, the last major explosion occurred during the Minoan Bronze Age 3,600 years ago. We offer daily boat tours to the Volcano (Nea Kameni), Palia Kameni and the Hot Sulphur Springs for a therapeutic mud bath and to the island of Thirassia. |

Museum of Prehistoric Thira in Fira: Close to the bus station, displays artifacts and replicas from the excavations at Akrotiri
Archaeological Museum in Fira: close to the cable car station, contains artifacts and inscriptions from the Archaic to the Roman period
Naval Museum in Oia: A 19th century mansion has been restored and converted into a museum that houses the Maritime History of Thira
Lignos Folklore Museum in Kontochori, Fira: The museum is an old winery built in 1861 with workshops for carpenters, barrel makers, shoemakers, tinsmiths and an art gallery. |

Ancient Thira fortress settlement. Located in Kamari, you can either walk (the walk should take 30 to 40 minutes) or take the bus. Tickets are available at our office.
Unfortunately the site of the Akrotiri Excavations is closed to the public until further notice.

Before the 1956 earthquake, Santorini boasted some 260 churches. Most of those that have survived are of the one-aisled basilica type with blue or white dome, while others are cruciform in shape.Santorini's monasteries are massive, often reminiscent of fortresses, such as the monastery of Profitis Ilias which can be visited on our guided coach excursion. Each church has a patron saint & many hold a celebration on that day, which often means that apart from the church service, there is food and wine, and sometimes music and dancing. Visitors on the island are welcome to attend. |

Beaches in Santorini: Typical characteristics are long stretches of black sand and small black pebbles due to the volcanic nature of the island. Some have red or white sand with pebbles. Many beaches are organized with sunbeds, umbrellas & water sports, although one can still find remoter and still-unspoiled places to go. Famous beaches are Perissa beach, Perivolos beach, Kamari beach, Red beach, Koloumbo and Pori beach. |
